It runs a preschool and after-school learning-support activities with over 200 children in 7 villages and provides micro-credit activities and training support for the parents.

The local community development staff love their communities with a passion but they are needing support to care for disabled children. There is a need for a physiotherapist occupational therapist or special-needs educator who can teach techniques which will help staff be better carers demonstrate skills to care for these special children and help the staff learn these new skills. The staff are eager to learn from well-trained professionals. The appointee will give health training both on the job and in small groups. As well she or he will give hands-on help to the team when they visit family homes and support the parents as well as the children.

We need a physiotherapist occupational therapist or special-needs educator who is eager to share their knowledge in a simple format for 2-6 months. They should be open flexible and keen for adventure. They should be physically fit – travel to the villages is on the back of a motorbike

An advisor could help with visiting pineapple farms doing business research for opportunities for selling and processing the pineapples giving input to groups of 10 pineapple farmers about variety fertilizers and soil cultivation and encouraging and mentoring local farmers.

He should have an agriculture and business background. Since he needs to travel locally a lot he needs to be flexible healthy and able to cope with the heat in the pineapple farms. This person needs to come alongside and serve with a flexible attitude.

Paediatrician

Started as a community health and development project this organisation has expanded to include a 150-bed hospital training for midwives and nurses a research hub and an English-speaking school for children up to grade 10. The project has a holistic approach which seeks spiritual physical social and emotional transformation.

The hospital has a busy paediatric department with over 2500 deliveries per year and a busy outpatient and inpatient unit for general paediatrics as well as an inpatient and outpatient unit for disabled children. They are looking for a paediatrician to replace the existing long-term consultant who is retiring this year thus ensuring a quality service for the rural poor and helping give clinical leadership to a team of 3 senior and 2-3 junior national doctors. A senior trainee would also be suitable and would find an extended stay (several months) stimulating and fulfilling.

Doctors are needed who are prepared to meet clinical needs as they arise as well as to contribute to training. Those with research interests will find opportunities to work on existing projects.
