You will be part of a team based in the north of the country that provides professional psychiatric care primarily in English to cross-cultural workers from across East Asia.You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments developing treatment plans and providing medication management in accordance with best practice guidelines. Participation in regular individual and group supervision is expected as part of a multidisciplinary team. As part of our commitment to strategic prayer and ministry we ask that you participate in prayer meetings and our annual conference while focusing on ministry with your team. Additionally we expect you to learn the local language and culture prior to beginning your ministry to foster deeper cultural connection and effectiveness in your role.

A minimum of a Doctorate in Psychiatry is required. You must be licensed or have an equivalent qualification from your passport country. More than three years experience is required.

Pastoral Counsellor

We are a Christian inter-agency international non-profit cooperative that provides training consultation counselling assessment and opportunities for renewal for all expatriates living and working in this country. Our team consists of a variety of experienced and trained caring professionals.

The post holder will provide professional pastoral counselling for individuals couples families and groups assessing each client to identify spiritual and mental well-being concerns and emotional distress and offering an appropriate spiritual and therapeutic approach. Occupational Therapist more

This project is dedicated to serving people throughout Southeast Asia who are affected by disabilities through the free distribution of wheelchairs and other mobility aids which are custom fitted to each users needs and environment. The project accomplishes this through working with partners both locally and around the world.

Our team of volunteers and staff is a mix of young and old experienced and new with skill sets that range from welding and metalwork to sewing and upholstery to computers and 3D modelling. We capitalise on these differing backgrounds by encouraging workers to design and develop a project they would like to pursue during their time here. These projects range in scope from re-designed organisation of our work areas to custom-made butterfly harnesses. We welcome any number of other skills and ideas designed to improve either our service or our facility.

Volunteers of all kinds are needed including people with no experience or training.Occupational therapists and physical therapists would be highly valued. We are also seeking IT communications and management professionals.

The project accomplishes this through working with partners both locally and around the world.To date the project has provided aid to tens of thousands of patients and continues to expand its services to meet the needs of the hundreds of thousands of individuals still in need.

We are seeking a Distribution Manager to oversee and coordinate upcoming wheelchair distribution events. These events involve adapting and fitting pre-selected wheelchairs for recipients across Southeast Asia. Your primary responsibilities will include event scheduling wheelchair selection pre-distribution preparation and on-site event management. Working closely with management you will ensure the smooth flow of operations during distribution events. These events typically occur 1-2 times per month and accommodate up to 100 patients over several days. You will also coordinate a team working under your supervision to accomplish the necessary tasks. Preference will be given to candidates with familiarity in disabilities and assistive devices as well as a background in Physical or Occupational Therapy.

You will be willing to commit to at least three years have a passion for serving the disadvantaged and possess excellent communication skills. You will be familiar with wheelchair selection and preparation gained through a PT or OT background. You will also possess strong organisational abilities effective interpersonal and time management skills and creative problem-solving abilities.

Paediatrician

Started as a community health and development project this organisation has expanded to include a 150-bed hospital training for midwives and nurses a research hub and an English-speaking school for children up to grade 10. The project has a holistic approach which seeks spiritual physical social and emotional transformation.

The hospital has a busy paediatric department with over 2500 deliveries per year and a busy outpatient and inpatient unit for general paediatrics as well as an inpatient and outpatient unit for disabled children. They are looking for a paediatrician to replace the existing long-term consultant who is retiring this year thus ensuring a quality service for the rural poor and helping give clinical leadership to a team of 3 senior and 2-3 junior national doctors. A senior trainee would also be suitable and would find an extended stay (several months) stimulating and fulfilling.

Doctors are needed who are prepared to meet clinical needs as they arise as well as to contribute to training. Those with research interests will find opportunities to work on existing projects.

Physio/Occupational Therapist

The project has a holistic approach which seeks spiritual physical social and emotional transformation. There is a paediatric rehabilitation department which treats mainly children with cerebral palsy but also children with other disabilities. There is a clubfoot program and assistive devices are produced on location.

The hospital operates a rehabilitation unit for disabled children for up to 6 inpatients and over 1500 outpatients both at the hospital and in remote community clinics. Adult therapy services are offered for in- and out-patients. The project is seeking a physiotherapist or occupational therapist to give clinical support and guidance to our local therapy assistants in all three therapy disciplines. Other paramedical nursing and medical staff are also sought. A commitment of at least 1 year is preferable.

Some clinical experience is preferred. A successful applicant should be prepared to meet clinical needs as they arise as well as contribute to training. Those with research interests will find opportunity to work on existing projects.
