The school is looking for teachers (early years and primary) able to teach to the British National Curriculum (primary school) and international GCSEs. The school is also looking for a Secondary English Teacher and a Secondary PE Teacher/Sports Coordinator.

We follow a modified version of the English National Curriculum providing support to all teachers who are new to this system.

OG Doctor

This rural 100-bed hospital delivers about 2500 babies each year. The hospital has an active community health program and there are opportunities to be involved in research as well as clinical obstetrics and gynaecology. It is an integrated rural health and development program with extensive community work and there are strong links between the community antenatal clinics and the hospital.

We have a strong national team of senior and junior OG doctors but nobody with a postgraduate degree. The team still benefits a lot by continuous and intermittent support by expat OG consultants especially in the areas of quality improvement adjustment to the latest guidelines changes support and teaching especially in surgeries and ultrasound. With an expat consultant we can also keep up our postgraduate recognition for FCPS. Trainees working under national leadership are also welcome and can bring significant contributions to the team.

The post holder will have the ability to bridge the Western standard of care with the possibilities of the hospitals setting. They will be willing and able to facilitate support challenge and empower others rather than do the work themselves.

This project serves several million people in a rural area through a variety of community development projects and a hospital and training centre. An English-medium school serves the families of staff of the project and the wider community. There are currently 130 national and a few expatriate students in small classes from Kindergarten to Grade 10. Emphasis is on quality teaching and Christian example.

The school serves a student population of around 140 national and some international children from 4 to 16 years of age. The schools class sizes are generally around 16 but smaller in the upper school with challenges of delivering Cambridge English medium education to second language speakers in a vibrant but challenging cross-cultural environment. The greatest need for teachers is in the upper school for O-levels but also for the reception and middle school years.

While long-term service (2 years or more) is preferredshorter periods of service are also welcome.

The hospital has a busy inpatient and outpatient medical department with outpatient visits and inpatient admissions. Patients are usually seen first by medical assistants and then by trainee doctors who consult senior doctors when needed. The hospital is looking for an experienced senior doctor for the long term or for a mature trainee for shorter periods to provide patient care and support the national staff ensuring quality service for the rural poor. A long-term doctor would help give clinical leadership to a team of 1 senior and 4-5 junior national doctors.

Doctors are needed who are prepared to meet clinical need as it arises as well as to contribute to training in particular. Those with research interests will find opportunity to work on existing projects.

Duties would include participation (under staff supervision) in all the daily activities of ward rounds outpatient clinics surgery and emergency calls. Participants would develop skills in history-taking (through available translation) physical examination appropriate lab x-ray evaluation and differential diagnoses in a rural hospital context as well as common procedures and would assist in surgeries when possible. There would be opportunity to study the diseases and conditions encountered each day especially those endemic to developing countries and most importantly be a model of Christian compassion in attitudes and actions toward patients and staff.

Qualifying participants will be enrolled in the final year of an accredited medical school in their country of origin and have a personal commitment to Christ and a desire to be involved in advancing his kingdom.
