Adult therapy services are offered for in- and out-patients. The project is seeking a physiotherapist or occupational therapist to give clinical support and guidance to our local therapy assistants in all three therapy disciplines. Other paramedical nursing and medical staff are also sought. A commitment of at least 1 year is preferable.

With an expat consultant we can also keep up our postgraduate recognition for FCPS. Trainees working under national leadership are also welcome and can bring significant contributions to the team.

Duties would include participation (under staff supervision) in all the daily activities of ward rounds outpatient clinics surgery and emergency calls. The project is seeking a qualified anaesthetist to support the team of non-medical anaesthetists here. The anaesthetic team consists of 2 senior nurse anaesthetists (trained by visiting foreigners over the years) a medical assistant anaesthetist and several nurses. The hospital has 3 operating theatres one for mainly general/gynaecology one for obstetrics and one for small procedures and endoscopies. Most of the caseload is obstetrics (with many high risk cases) gynae and general surgery. There are 3600 deliveries per year with a 20 Caesarean section rate. We occasionally operate on neonates as well as all other age groups.There is a need for a physician anaesthetist to expand the teaching of the newer anaesthesia nurses to improve the skills of existing nurses to help manage complex patients within a limited resource setting and to maintain resuscitation skills.
